“Douglas Brooks talked about the power of perception when he taught Rajaneka Tantra. ‘When it’s outside your home, you call it soil, if its inside your home, you think of it as dirt,’ he said. That’s it in a nut shell.” -C. NEUMAN

I received a masters degree from the School of Social Work at the University of Southern California in 1991. Prior to this I had worked for several years in the field of Chemical Dependancy both as a counselor and a family therapist.

My spiritual path influences everything. As I evolved, I attracted many teachers into my life. I studied to become a prayer Practitioner at the Agape Spiritual Center in Los Angeles. Under the direction of the renowned Dr. Reverend Beckwith, I learned about the power and energy of thought. I had already gone through the Course in Miracles and I was also an avid student of the Law of Attraction.

What can I say? I have a hungry mind.

Anusara Yoga has its spiritual underpinnings in Kashmir Shaivism which, in my opinion, is one of the most ancient philosophies that acknowledges the power of individual thought and perception as being creative.

My desire and intention with this work is the same as teaching yoga: To be able to see the world through empowered eyes while we make conscious, life affirming choices is bliss. My counseling work is about creating focus and intention to make positive changes in your life.

One day a friend and I were talking and she was telling me she was broke. “I have no money coming in and not enough to last me until the end of the month.” she said. My response to her was, “Well, you could see it that way or you could choose to think of it this way: now you have a lot more room in your checking account for more money to come in.”

We can focus our minds on our greatest vision for ourselves and see the manifestation of it. Isn’t that what life is about?
